French Toast Performing Arts' theatre program has several options for children interested in the performing arts. Theatre programs throughout the year include A School Year program, Intensive Trainings, Summer Camp Minis, and In-School Theatre Programs.

 

The School Year Program includes four full-scale productions, with two for tweens and teens ages 8-12 and two for children ages 5-8. Past productions include Disney's The Jungle Book, Disney's Frozen, The Wizard of Oz, and Disney's 101 Dalmations, among many other challenging classics. Participation in these productions requires a commitment to attend rehearsals 2-3 times per week (4-6 hours weekly) for the 10-12 week rehearsal and performance schedule.

The Intensive Training is for experienced actors dedicated to improving their skills in the craft of theatre. These focus on targeted areas vital to actor success on stage: some examples of skills learned in these trainings are improvisation, emotional preparation, scene study, voice/speech, singing for actors, contemporary movement, and more. Intensive Training members act in or participate in all four productions throughout the year.

The Camp Minis are offered during school breaks and provide opportunities for students to work together to prepare a mini-production in one week. We also produce the hilariously fun and wildly popular Play-In-A-Day series at various times throughout the year.

In-School Theatre Programs are an opportunity for us to bring theatre productions into local schools in Western Washington State. With several different options - elective theatre productions for K-8, weekly Theatre Club meetings, and more - we bring the theatre to your school focusing not only on the performing arts but the team-building skills that our children learn through the art of theatre.
